Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing on the morning of June 29.

During the meeting, Xi noted that China and Belarus are all-weather comprehensive strategic partners who trust and support each other. Bilateral relations have achieved leapfrog development in recent years, with rock-solid political mutual trust, fruitful cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, steady progress on key projects, and effective multilateral collaboration.

Xi stressed that deepening China-Belarus all-round cooperation conforms to the trend of history and serves the fundamental interests of both peoples. China is willing to continue providing assistance to Belarus for its development, and supports Belarus in safeguarding its sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and in pursuing a development path suited to its national conditions. The two countries will mobilize resources to enrich practical cooperation and jointly promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind and the implementation of the four global initiatives.

On multilateral affairs, both sides are ready to strengthen coordination and cooperation within mechanisms such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the United Nations. Lukashenko, for his part, expressed full agreement with Xi's assessment of bilateral ties. Belarus regards China as an all-weather strategic partner, and the comprehensive and in-depth practical cooperation has provided important support for Belarus's economic and social development.

Belarus looks forward to expanding areas of cooperation and maintaining close communication with China on international and regional affairs. The two heads of state agreed to push bilateral relations forward at a high level. Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission, attended the meeting.
