On the evening of June 29, the concert "People First" marking the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China took place at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Party and state leaders including Xi Jinping, Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, Li Xi, and Han Zheng attended the event, joining an audience of approximately 3,000.
The venue was brightly lit with a festive atmosphere. At around 7:55 p.m., the leaders entered to warm applause. The concert opened with a children's chorus singing "Sing a Mountain Song for the Party" and unfolded across five movements.
Performers expressed devotion to the Party through instrumental and vocal works. The program included pieces such as "Ode to the Red Flag," "To the Forefathers," "Azalea," "Sweet Osmanthus in August," "Ode to the Yellow River," and "The Sky of the Liberated Areas," evoking the unity of soldiers and civilians during the revolutionary era. Orchestral and choral works like "Colorful Homeland" and "Fields of Hope" depicted the fervor of the socialist construction period and the transformations since reform and opening-up.
The latter half featured "Joyous Songs in Mountains and Waters," "Heart to Heart," and "Love Flows Through the Mountains and Rivers," reflecting the prosperity of the new era, with "Living Up to the People" bringing the atmosphere to a climax. The concert concluded with the entire audience rising to sing "Without the Communist Party, There Would Be No New China."
Also in attendance were members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee in Beijing, members of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, Vice Chairmen of the Central Military Commission, Vice Chairpersons of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, State Councilors, the President of the Supreme People's Court, the Procurator-General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, and Vice Chairpersons of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. Other guests included heads of central Party, government, and military departments and Beijing municipal leaders, leaders of other political parties and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce and non-party personages, representatives of recipients of honors and awards, veteran Party members and officials, foreign experts working in China, grassroots Party members and representatives from all walks of life in the capital, and officers and soldiers of the Beijing garrison.
