The Northwest Energy Regulatory Bureau was invited to observe a comprehensive drill organized by State Grid Qinghai Electric Power Company. The drill was held on June 23 and included both a flood control emergency response and a joint anti-accident exercise for summer peak large-scale blackouts.

The drill set a practical scenario covering multiple emergency types. Simulated conditions included: severe thunderstorm weather causing damage to power transmission equipment, a fault trip on the Mayu I line, low-frequency oscillation in the power grid, and hindered hydropower output in the Yellow River basin.

Through this exercise, relevant parties focused on verifying the on-site operability of flood control emergency plans and assessing the collaborative response capabilities of dispatching agencies and plant operators under various grid emergencies. The drill also tested the grid's balance control and supply assurance capabilities during the summer peak period.

The Northwest Energy Regulatory Bureau stated that it will next work with local energy management departments to implement summer peak energy supply assurance arrangements, continuously monitor extreme weather and power supply-demand conditions, and guide grid and power generation enterprises to enhance emergency response and risk management, thereby ensuring safe and reliable power supply.
