China and Seychelles celebrated the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations on June 30. On the same day, President Xi Jinping and Seychelles President Herminie exchanged congratulatory messages.

Xi stated in his message that over the past 50 years, regardless of changes in the international landscape, the two countries have always trusted each other, stood firmly together, and shared an unbreakable friendship. He stressed that as long as both sides uphold the original aspiration of establishing diplomatic ties and move forward side by side, the path of China-Seychelles relations will become broader, and bilateral cooperation will enjoy brighter prospects. Xi noted that he attaches great importance to the development of bilateral relations and is willing to work with President Herminie to take the 50th anniversary as a new starting point to carry forward traditional friendship, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation within the frameworks of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, promote common development, and elevate the China-Seychelles strategic partnership to new heights for the benefit of the two peoples.

Herminie stated in his message that over the past 50 years, Seychelles-China relations have developed steadily on the basis of mutual respect, mutual trust, and common development. China has always been a valuable partner for Seychelles, providing significant support for improving people's livelihoods and achieving national development goals. Seychelles firmly adheres to the One-China principle and is willing to continue strengthening cooperation within the frameworks of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation to further deepen bilateral relations.
