Harbin Engineering University is expanding its aerospace science and technology discipline by combining it with its established maritime advantages. The university recently held a disciplinary development conference at the Qihang Sunshine Hall, initiating a new phase for the College of Aerospace.

The university announced that the discipline will deeply intersect with its "Three Oceans and One Nuclear" specialties, utilizing university-wide coordination and institutional reforms to refine disciplinary directions. It aims to drive distinctive development in general disciplines such as mechanical engineering, materials science and engineering, and mechanics, while also promoting the transformation and upgrading of traditional strengths.

Centered on scientific problems and key technology challenges in cross-medium new-quality equipment, the plan is to build a complete innovation chain from fundamental research to key technologies to system integration through organized research, thereby generating original achievements. The ultimate goal is to establish a high-level aerospace science and technology discipline characterized by cross-sea-air vehicles, fostering a new academic peak.
