A conference centered on sci-tech and industrial coordination within the Nanjing Metropolitan Area was convened on June 20 in Nanjing, under the theme of "Embracing National Strategy, Launching a New Chapter of '15th Five-Year' Coordination." Shi Junfeng, Deputy Director of the Anhui Provincial Development and Reform Commission, attended, along with relevant officials from Anhui cities that are members of the metropolitan area: Wuhu, Ma'anshan, Chuzhou, and Xuancheng.
The conference interpreted the "Nanjing Metropolitan Area '15th Five-Year' Coordinated Development Blueprint" and released the area's "City Industrial Identity Cards" and "Five Major Lists." At the same time, a cooperation initiative was launched for industrial parks to integrate into the "Shanghai-Nanjing Industrial Innovation Belt." Participants engaged in discussions and exchanges on topics such as forming innovation consortia, arranging industrial chain division and collaboration, co-building cross-regional industrial parks, and achieving infrastructure connectivity.
It was made clear at the conference that the collaborative model of "Nanjing R&D + Metropolitan Area Manufacturing" will be deepened, joint breakthroughs will be made in core technologies, and advanced industrial clusters in automobiles, electronics, and artificial intelligence will be cultivated collaboratively. This will push metropolitan area cooperation from "physical connectivity"—primarily based on infrastructure linkage—toward "chemical integration" characterized by deep integration of industry and innovation.
The participating Anhui cities, drawing on their industrial foundations, exchanged ideas on sharing cross-regional sci-tech innovation resources and building mechanisms for sharing industrial benefits. Going forward, the Anhui Provincial Development and Reform Commission will strengthen inter-provincial coordination, implement key annual cooperation tasks, and, based on its function of coordinating regional development, promote coordinated interaction between the Hefei metropolitan area and the Nanjing metropolitan area. It will also drive high-quality provincial development through high-level regional coordination, better serving the integrated construction of the Yangtze River Delta.
