Huawei has resumed selling 5G smartphones outside China. In Malaysia, pre-orders have begun for the flagship Pura series models 90s Pro Max and 90s Pro, with shipments starting on July 24. Prices start at 4,899 ringgit and 3,699 ringgit, respectively.
The devices have also been listed on Huawei’s Mexico website, with local sales expected soon. A launch event is planned in Dubai, UAE, indicating likely availability in the Middle East. Local media in Indonesia and the Philippines have reported that the models will launch there as well.
Huawei had halted overseas 5G phone sales after being placed on a U.S. sanctions list in 2019, which restricted its access to essential semiconductors.
According to research firm Omdia, Huawei’s China domestic smartphone shipments reached 15.2 million units in the second quarter of 2026 (April-June), up 25% year-on-year and ranking first by market share. This growth came amid rising semiconductor memory prices and supply adjustments by some budget Chinese brands.
For the full year 2025, Huawei’s revenue was 880.9 billion yuan, up 2% year-on-year. Its consumer device business performed solidly, with sales approaching the level of 2020—before the full impact of sanctions. Facing sluggish domestic consumption and a decelerating overall market, Huawei is now aiming to boost overseas sales with its 5G models.
