The Communist Party of China regards the combination of courageous struggle and skillful struggle as a key capability for addressing risks and challenges. At the celebration of the Party's 105th anniversary, General Secretary Xi Jinping summarized this trait as one of the Party's six outstanding qualities.

When confronting external pressures, this approach has consistently shown results. In response to escalating tariff barriers, China has implemented proportional countermeasures; facing technology blockades, a number of key core technologies have been overcome, and the list of 'bottleneck' items has grown shorter; amid calls for 'decoupling and breaking chains,' high-level opening-up has been firmly expanded, safeguarding the global free trade system and the stability of industrial and supply chains.

The practice of struggle is accompanied by different strategic choices. In the battle against poverty, nearly 100 million rural poor were lifted out of poverty, with 255,000 resident work teams and over 3 million first secretaries and resident officials completing the task through precise measures tailored to each household and individual. The lunar exploration program, a large-scale and highly complex project, was coordinated by the China National Space Administration and other agencies, with nearly 3,000 work units and about 100,000 personnel collaborating under a new whole-of-nation system to achieve consecutive successes. The ten-year fishing ban on the Yangtze River involved the retirement and transfer of over 200,000 fishermen along the river; while enforcing the ban, resettlement measures were simultaneously advanced. As a result, finless porpoises are now frequently spotted, and fish populations have noticeably recovered.

At present, against the backdrop of rising de-globalization and protectionism, struggle is being directed toward a higher level of seeking solidarity, cooperation, and mutual benefit. The signing of the upgraded Free Trade Area 3.0 protocol with ASEAN, and the implementation of zero tariffs on 100% of tariff lines for 53 African countries with diplomatic relations, along with the establishment of a 'green channel' for agricultural product exports to China, have all expanded cooperation even as external barriers rise.

History and practice have repeatedly proven that 'by seeking security through struggle, security is secured; by seeking development through struggle, development prospers.' The article states that carrying forward the spirit of struggle, enhancing the ability to struggle, and strengthening confidence in victory will support the Party in leading the people of the whole country to continue moving forward on the path of building a strong country and achieving national rejuvenation.
