The celebration of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on July 1, where Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, delivered a speech.
In his address, Xi reviewed the Party's 105-year struggle since its founding. He stated that during this period, the Party led the Chinese people in overcoming poverty and achieving moderate prosperity, pioneering socialism with Chinese characteristics, and creating the miracles of rapid economic growth and long-term social stability. The sinicization and modernization of Marxism, including the formation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, were continuously advanced.
He noted that China's development has profoundly influenced world history. Chinese-style modernization has created a new form of human civilization and expanded pathways for developing countries, while promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. The CPC has become the world's largest ruling party.
Xi emphasized the principles for moving forward: uphold the Party's basic theory, line, and policy; rely on the people to achieve historic accomplishments by implementing the Five-Sphere Integrated Plan and the Four-Pronged Comprehensive Strategy, fully applying the new development philosophy, accelerating the creation of a new development pattern, and pursuing high-quality development; proactively address risks and challenges by strengthening awareness of potential dangers and worst-case scenario thinking; continue to promote a global community of shared future under the banner of peace, development, cooperation, and mutual benefit; and persistently exercise full and rigorous Party self-governance by improving the system and winning the tough and protracted battle against corruption.
Additionally, the speech touched on national defense and military modernization, long-term prosperity and stability in Hong Kong and Macao, national reunification, and youth work. Xi called for meeting the centennial goal of the People's Liberation Army on schedule, fully and faithfully implementing the "One Country, Two Systems" principle, resolutely advancing national reunification, and encouraged the youth to follow the Party's lead.
