A ceremony marking the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China took place on the morning of July 1 at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, president of the People's Republic of China, and chairman of the Central Military Commission, attended and delivered an important speech.

Xi reviewed the Party's 105-year history since its founding. He noted that the Party led the people in overthrowing imperialism, feudalism, and bureaucratic capitalism, establishing the new China, and achieving a historic leap from insufficient food and clothing to moderate prosperity in all respects.

He stressed that through revolution, construction, and reform, the Party opened up the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, completing in just a few decades the industrialization process that took developed countries several centuries, and creating two miracles of rapid economic growth and long-term social stability.

Xi said that the Party has persisted in adapting the basic tenets of Marxism to China's specific realities and fine traditional culture, forming theoretical achievements including Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, the Theory of Three Represents, the Scientific Outlook on Development, and the Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

He also pointed out that Chinese modernization under the Party's leadership has created a new form of human advancement, and promoted the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, contributing Chinese wisdom to solving global issues.

In his speech, Xi expressed respect and gratitude to veteran revolutionaries, revolutionary martyrs, and people from all walks of life. He called on the whole Party to strengthen confidence and continue striving, adhere to the Party's basic theory, line, and policy, and rely on the people to advance high-quality development.

He emphasized the need to coordinate development and security, respond to risks and challenges, and continue to promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. He also mentioned that full and rigorous governance over the Party must be advanced.

Regarding national defense and military building, Xi stated that the Party's thinking on strengthening the military for the new era must be fully implemented. On Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, he stressed the full and faithful implementation of the "one country, two systems" policy and resolute opposition to "Taiwan independence" separatist forces.

At the end, Xi encouraged young people in the new era to follow the Party and shoulder responsibilities. He urged all Party members to remain true to the original aspiration and keep the mission firmly in mind, working to build a great modern socialist country in all respects.
