Heavy rainfall triggered by typhoons caused disasters across East, South, North, and Northeast China, prompting the central government to urgently distribute relief funds on July 14, 2026. The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Emergency Management jointly allocated a total of 430 million yuan to ten provincial-level regions: Guangxi, Zhejiang, Hebei, Liaoning, Tianjin, Heilongjiang, Jiangsu, Anhui, Jiangxi, and Sichuan.
The funds are split into two parts. An additional 150 million yuan is added to the previous 190 million yuan already allocated to Guangxi, specifically for resettling affected residents, transitional living assistance, and repairing damaged houses, aiming to restore normal production and living order quickly. The remaining 280 million yuan is allocated to the other nine regions, to be used for search and rescue, relocation, hazard removal, and emergency management of secondary disasters, with the goal of minimizing losses.
The Ministry of Finance has instructed provincial finance departments to promptly disburse the funds to disaster-stricken areas and strengthen oversight to ensure that all relief funds are used solely for affected areas and people, effectively safeguarding their lives and property.
