Ministry of Ecology and Environment official Jiang Huohua announced at a June press briefing that the share of surface water rated at or above Grade III nationally reached 91.4% in 2025, while the share below Grade V fell to 0.6%, both the best on record. The rate in the Yangtze Economic Belt rose from 67% in 2015 to 96.5%, with the main stream maintaining Class II for six straight years. By end-April, national renewable energy installed capacity exceeded 2.4 billion kW, accounting for 60.5% of total power capacity. The National Energy Administration and experts believe this will strengthen energy supply and promote economic development.
