Cumulatively since 2025, national product quality inspection and testing centers across China have provided technical support to over 700,000 small and medium-sized enterprises, helping these companies achieve total cost reduction and efficiency gains of around 2.9 billion yuan. The figures were released by the State Administration for Market Regulation on June 30.
Inspection and testing is emerging as a core technical force for stabilizing industrial and supply chains and accelerating industrial upgrading. During the same period, the industry concentrated on breaking through more than 20 key testing technology bottlenecks, including industrial robot precision measurement and safety assessment for new energy vehicle batteries.
Infrastructure development and commercialization of achievements are advancing in parallel. A total of 880 national product quality inspection and testing centers are currently under planning. Since 2025, these institutions have resolved over 1,700 key industry-wide technical problems and facilitated the application of more than 3,400 scientific and technological achievements.
Industrial consolidation is evident. Institutions above designated size account for approximately 15% of the total number in the sector but contribute over 80% of industry revenue. Testing institutions classified as high-tech enterprises generate nearly half of the total sector revenue.
The collaborative effect of the industry is also strengthening. By establishing more than 1,600 public service platforms, the sector has resolved over 20,000 problems related to product quality and trade.
