At the 2026 coordination meeting for the communications industry, the Anhui Communications Administration laid out tasks for the remainder of the year, emphasizing growth in telecom business volume, faster network deployment, and reinforced safety. Deputy Director Hu Jian presided over the meeting.
Data released at the meeting showed that from January to May, the province’s total telecom business volume remained in the top tier nationwide. A total of 10,376 5G base stations and 2,524 5G-A base stations were newly constructed, both exceeding the scheduled progress. The national top-level domain (Anhui) resolution node went live, the 5G large-scale application “Yangfan” campaign was deepened, the industry’s “15th Five‑Year Plan” was being steadily prepared, and “anti‑involution” governance achieved new results.
Three priority tasks were set. First, accelerate the growth of total telecom business volume by monitoring key indicators like total amount, growth rate, and structure, strengthening forward-looking analysis and regular scheduling to build differentiated competitive advantages. Second, speed up next‑generation communications network construction by deeply integrating into the national “Six Networks” strategy, continuing the “Signal Upgrade” initiative, fast‑tracking dual‑gigabit, 5G‑A, and 10‑G optical networks, coordinating computing‑network integration, and promoting forward‑looking 6G technology and industries where conditions permit; focus on large‑scale 5G application in key sectors to drive digital transformation. Third, safeguard industry safety by strengthening full‑chain supervision of network and data security, market order, and service quality, guiding improved safety management, and making all‑out efforts in flood prevention — refining emergency plans, eliminating hazards, stocking supplies, and ensuring communication resilience in extreme weather for critical areas and lines.
Since its establishment, the coordination mechanism has effectively addressed prominent industry challenges, continuously unleashed innovation, and promoted high‑quality development. The meeting also called for thorough implementation of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important directives regarding Anhui, full use of the coordination mechanism, and meeting mid‑year targets while upholding a correct performance view.
