During the 25th National Safety Month in June 2026, Shandong's power sector launched a comprehensive campaign centered on hazard identification and remediation. Two companies paid out bonuses totaling over 105,000 yuan for reported hazards.

Huadian Shandong Company, under its internal hazard reporting reward mechanism, identified four major internal hazards in June and awarded 80,000 yuan to the reporters. Datang Shandong Company, after uncovering 117 general hazards, paid out a total of more than 25,000 yuan in rewards. Both companies aim to encourage grassroots employees to proactively report risks.

At the local level, the Dezhou Municipal Development and Reform Commission organized power enterprises citywide to identify 3,203 safety hazards, of which 2,278 have been rectified, forming a closed-loop process of "identification, rectification, verification, and sign-off." The Binzhou Electric Power Special Committee conducted municipal-level supervision and inspection, and carried out power safety publicity in towns and streets, distributing more than 600 promotional materials.

The Shandong Office of the National Energy Administration coordinated the initiative. It joined forces with local power management departments to deploy province-wide Safety Month activities and issued an implementation plan outlining six key tasks. It organized training on the regulations for determining and supervising major power accident hazards and conducted emergency drills with local authorities. The office also integrated the activity with education on establishing a correct view of political achievements, arranging for party officials to visit the "Iron Shoes" practice base at Zibo Power Supply Company to promote the concept of prior prevention in daily regulation.

Power companies responded swiftly. State Grid Shandong Electric Power Company's top executive delivered a public lecture on workplace safety, explaining the dual prevention mechanism, and convened a safety committee meeting to deploy summer peak power supply and safety work. China Energy Shandong Company divided the month into four themed weeks, having conducted 18 publicity events and 15 accident case education sessions, covering nearly 10,000 people. CNNC Huineng Shandong Company focused on flood control for new energy projects, producing instructional videos on emergency response to enhance frontline personnel's capabilities. Datang Shandong Company also brought safety knowledge to rural markets, schools, and tourist areas through interactive courses such as fire extinguisher operation and CPR simulation.

The Shandong Energy Regulatory Office stated that it will continue to supervise and guide relevant units to deepen the series of activities, promote thorough hazard inspections and rectification, and ensure reliable power supply with high-level safety.
