Tongwei Co., Ltd. announced on July 15, 2026 that preliminary estimates show net profit attributable to parent for the first half of the year will be a loss of RMB 4.8 billion to RMB 5.4 billion. After deducting non-recurring items, the loss range is essentially the same, at around RMB 4.8 billion to RMB 5.4 billion.
The main reason for the expected loss is that the overall supply-demand imbalance in the solar PV industry has not fundamentally improved. The announcement noted that during the reporting period, operating rates across the industry chain further declined, and some less competitive capacity gradually exited, but product prices remained sluggish, putting significant pressure on corporate operations.
In the same period last year, the company's net profit attributable to parent was -RMB 4.955 billion, and -RMB 5.029 billion after non-recurring items, with basic earnings per share of -RMB 1.1007.
Facing a severe market environment, Tongwei stated that it adheres to a prudent operating strategy, dynamically adjusts production and sales pace, and continues to strengthen the competitive advantages of its main businesses. In solar PV, it combines technology R&D, lean management, and market development, insisting on leading with technology and product quality during the industry downturn; the feed business contributed profits through coordinated efforts at home and abroad.
The announcement also mentioned that China's solar PV industry, as a pillar of the global clean energy transition, faces temporary supply-demand conflicts but has broad long-term development prospects. Industry stakeholders are exploring solutions, and the company will focus on improving its own operational efficiency and strictly controlling risks to promote an early recovery in performance.
The company confirmed that there are no major uncertainties affecting the accuracy of this earnings forecast, and reminded investors that the above data are preliminary estimates, with specific financial figures subject to the official semi-annual report.
