The Sichuan Energy Regulatory Office recently held a Party group meeting to plan key tasks for the next phase of power safety supervision.

The meeting conveyed the spirit of the National Energy Administration's video conference on work safety, with particular emphasis on the requirements outlined by Deputy Director He Yang. It noted that in the first half of the year, the province's power system operated stably overall, with the office focusing on critical periods such as the winter peak and flood season, continuously reducing Level-4 grid risks; deepening the three-year campaign to address root causes of safety production in the energy and power system and the year-long campaign to enhance power construction safety and quality; improving disaster prevention and early warning mechanisms; and strictly enforcing regulatory oversight.

The meeting stressed that multiple risks are now intertwined and prominent across the province's power sector, creating a severe and complex situation, and called for solid implementation of five priorities: first, to hold enterprises accountable for their primary responsibilities, strictly apply the "two closed-loop" management requirements for hazard rectification and accountability, and trace major hazards as if they were accidents; second, to intensify closed-loop management of grid risks, focusing on ensuring supply during the summer peak and reducing Level-4 grid safety risks; third, to tackle hazard management in key areas, fully ascertain the regulatory baseline, and strengthen supervision of hydropower station dams during the flood season; fourth, to strictly standardize law enforcement and routinely conduct unannounced inspections; and fifth, to enhance coordination and collaboration, and improve the professional capacity and effectiveness of supervision.

The meeting demanded that the entire office firmly uphold the concept of putting the people and life above all else, deepen the crackdown on illegal activities, precisely prevent mass casualty risks, resolutely safeguard the three bottom lines of bulk power grid, dam, and personal safety, and make every effort to ensure safe and reliable power supply across the province.
