The National Energy Administration released national electric vehicle charging facility data for May 2026 on June 24.
According to data from the National Charging Facility Monitoring and Service Platform, by the end of May 2026, the total number of electric vehicle charging infrastructure units (connectors) nationwide reached 22.497 million, an increase of 44.9% year-on-year. Of these, public charging facilities (connectors) numbered 4.951 million, up 25.9% year-on-year, with a total rated power of 242 million kilowatts. Private charging facilities (connectors) numbered 17.546 million, up 51.4% year-on-year, and the installed electricity capacity applied for private charging facilities reached 151 million kilovolt-amperes.
The average power per public charging connector was approximately 48.89 kilowatts, an increase of 8.9% year-on-year. Since the beginning of this year, the average power per connector has maintained a steady growth trend, and the rapid recharging service capability of stations has been continuously enhanced. The number of private charging facilities has grown by over 50% year-on-year since the start of this year, indicating rapid development of home charging facilities.
