Anhui province recently held a mobilization and deployment meeting for 2026 summer peak energy and power supply, along with a practical emergency drill. The drill was commanded by Wang Dongwei, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Anhui Provincial Committee and Executive Vice Governor, who also attended the meeting.
The meeting stressed strict implementation of the comprehensive energy and power supply plan, upholding bottom-line and extreme thinking, and fulfilling political responsibilities. To enhance supply capacity, measures include making recently commissioned projects play their peak role, ensuring coal production and supply, and efficiently carrying out inter-provincial electricity surplus exchanges.
On the demand side, refined management was required, using staggered production, electricity conservation, and other preemptive measures, along with strengthening public energy-saving promotion. Safe production in the energy sector was highlighted, with intensified efforts to identify and eliminate risks and hazards, reinforcing the safety defense line.
The drill simulated situations such as extreme weather and equipment failures causing a gap in provincial power supply, activating demand response and emergency load control to verify the security and reliability of electricity supply.
