On June 26, the National Energy Administration held a special Party lecture on establishing and practicing a correct view of performance, combined with a conference to commend advanced units and individuals ahead of July 1. Director Wang Hongzhi delivered a lecture titled “Deeply Study and Implement Xi Jinping’s Thought on Party Building, and Lead the Building of an Energy Superpower with a Correct View of Performance.” Deputy Director He Yang presided over the meeting.
Wang Hongzhi pointed out that establishing and practicing a correct view of performance is the distinctive theme of the education campaign and an important part of Xi Jinping’s Party building thought. Party organizations and members at all levels within the NEA must deeply study and grasp its core essence and practical requirements, and consciously guide their duties and undertakings with a correct performance view.
Wang outlined three specific requirements for Party officials: First, use the “Fourteen Adherences” as a benchmark and Xi Jinping’s “Five Priorities and Five Neglects” as a mirror to guard against deviations in performance view. Second, uphold the Party’s public commitment, benefit the people, make scientific decisions, and take solid actions to steer energy development in the right direction. Third, persistently advance full and rigorous Party self-governance, correct value orientations through proper selection and appointment of personnel, deepen efforts to improve conduct, enforce discipline, and fight corruption, and ensure the education campaign achieves practical results.
Wang also demanded that studying and implementing Xi Jinping’s Party building thought be treated as a vital political task, with efforts to ensure it takes root and yields results across the NEA. Party officials should fully recognize its significance, deeply study its core tenets, and comprehensively implement it to foster high-quality energy development through high-quality Party building.
The meeting announced and commended advanced groups and individuals who have received honors at or above the provincial level since the 20th CPC National Congress, and awarded medals or certificates to representatives. Wang led all Party members in a collective oath. The conference called on all Party members and officials to follow the examples of these advanced role models, benchmark against them, learn from them, and strive to excel, making further contributions to the building of an energy superpower.
NEA leadership members, the supervision director, chief engineer, department-level officials from units in Beijing, division chiefs of general offices, and retired Party member representatives attended the main venue. Comrades from the discipline inspection and supervision group of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision stationed at the National Development and Reform Commission were present to provide guidance. Other Party officials attended via video link at sub-venues.
