The Radio Administration Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China and the Egyptian radio administration held their first satellite network coordination meeting in Giza, Egypt, from June 22 to 25, 2026.
The two sides discussed over 40 topics concerning multiple satellite systems in both high and low orbits, covering services such as satellite communications, satellite meteorology, and Beidou short message. The discussions were conducted under the framework of the International Telecommunication Union's Radio Regulations. Both sides fully exchanged views, reached multiple agreements, and jointly signed the meeting minutes.
The successful meeting promoted compatible frequency sharing between the two countries' satellite systems, helping accelerate China's international satellite network coordination process and its space project construction.
The Chinese delegation included the Radio Administration Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Radio Spectrum Management Center, the National Satellite Meteorological Center, the Beijing Institute of Tracking and Telecommunications Technology, the Beijing Satellite Navigation Center, China Satellite Network Group Co., Ltd., and China Satellite Communications Co., Ltd. The Egyptian delegation included the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Egypt, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense, and NILESAT satellite company.
