The Shaanxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission recently held a special symposium to coordinate the advancement of key construction projects at "Double First-Class" universities in the province.
Xi'an Jiaotong University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xidian University, and Northwest University reported on the current construction progress of new campuses and student dormitories, as well as the status of preliminary procedures and future work plans for reserve projects.
In response to obstacles encountered during project implementation, the commission's Social Affairs Division and Project Office conducted on-site analysis, proposed corresponding solutions, and defined specific measures to accelerate the construction of university projects.
Xu Tianjiang, Deputy Director of the commission, urged the universities to fulfill their primary responsibilities, expedite preliminary procedures, and initiate construction in strict accordance with established timelines. He emphasized that pragmatic and efficient construction results would help secure higher-level policy and financial support, fostering a virtuous cycle of rapid progress and robust resource support.
The commission also stated that it would collaborate with relevant provincial departments, adhere to a problem-oriented approach, precisely address difficulties in the construction of key projects at "Double First-Class" universities, and fully promote the early commencement, completion, and utilization of all projects to provide hardware support for the quality improvement and expansion of higher education in Shaanxi.
